Anonymousi’m so sorry that happened. she became really incoherent towards the end and couldn’t be awake for more than about an hour at a time; her very last days she just stayed asleep. she was in hospice for over a week, but not at home (my dad and my brother still live in that house and didn’t want it to become ‘the place she died’)
loss is very hard and i cannot imagine what sort of pain you’re in- it all affects us so differently. please make sure you’re taking the time to process your pain. talk to people and accept invitations if and when friends reach out to you. you will come out the other side much different, but you will okay (and you’ll be very proud of yourself for getting through it). i’m so sorry to hear about what happened

this post has gotten really popular and after some reflection i’d like to say that the goal of getting married shouldn’t be getting a nice toaster it should you and your partner being in love and doing many schemes and heists against the system. also i’d like to apologize if it sounded like i was endorsing a brand/ business by mentioning bed bath and beyond by name. also don’t settle for domesticity in your relationships settle for nothing more than cities burning by the work of your collective hands. god bless x
